Community work. 

I recently decide to start a sewing group at my church.  I wanted to get people to come and build one block so that we could construct a quilt.  To be donated to the community.  So I went and purchased 10 sewing machines to get the group started.  I'm excited.  Making some pincushion.  Pincushions are pricy so I decided to make my own for the group. This is what I made and I got to try out one of the sewing machines.

I think it's going to come out beautifully.  

I just need to slow down and not hurry.. Slow and steady makes a cleaner line.

I finally decided on a design and now to mark the whole quilt.  Takes a lot of time. It took me a good 4 hours and finally finished it.

Now to the quilting.. The fun part. 

Crow Royal Quilt

This is a new quilt I'm working on.  This quilt is made with Crow Royal bags.  A client of my piercer collected these for 25 years and wanted a quilt with them. 

She did a wonderful job now I need to. Do a wonderful job quilting it.

Stitching in the ditich

Stitching in the Ditch

This is a video of how I used the Stitch in the Ditch Ruler.  I really do like the ability to align the Rule to the seam line.  It does take some practice but after the second or third star the process was easy to do.   

 

I stitched the ditch on all the stars.  Measuring 1/4 inch all around the star.  Visually it looks beautiful when the quilt was completely done.

It's been a while but I'm going to have more freedom now that I'm done with school.  So I will be posting more.  So here is a job I just finished for.  Sigma Iota Alpha.
